Help for an Oily Complexion - Mineral Cosmetics

by Becky Langley

In the last several years, mineral makeup has been acquiring a large following. There are several reasons as to why mineral cosmetics have earned such widespread approval. The first and most noteworthy cause is this: mineral cosmetics allow skin to appear smoother and younger. Mineral makeup is made up of tiny ground-up minerals that are light and soft; it smoothes blemishes and any lines while maintaining it's breathable feel, and almost translucent look. Instead of caking on your face and soaking into your skin, mineral makeup smoothes onto skin, settling evenly without clogging pores. Mineral foundation smoothes the contours of your face, mineral blush bestows just the right hint of color, and mineral eye shadow emphasizes the natural beauty of you eyes without being too overpowering or too thick.

There are many other good things to say about pure mineral cosmetics. The best mineral makeup is made from the most pure and all-natural components. For another thing, mineral cosmetic companies do not use animal products, neither do they test their products on animals. Pure mineral cosmetics are water-resistant, which means that you can wear it to the gym and not have to worry. You can search the web and find plenty of sites with other great makeup tips for mineral makeup too.

Another thing is that mineral makeup is made with minerals that have been purified. Then those natural components are ground into a very fine powder, and then that powder is mixed with inorganic pigments in order to bring out a variety of lustrous hues. The mineral eye shadows, blushes and foundations that are a result of these processes are easily some of the most beautiful cosmetics available.

The last important things to know when choosing a good mineral makeup are these; first, most mineral cosmetics are available exclusively in loose powder form, such as Bare Minerals. While it seems simple enough, 'swirl, tap', it can really be rather messy. Loose powder tends to be just that; loose. However, there are now pressed mineral cosmetics, that are available from certain companies. These pressed minerals are just as beneficial as all other pure mineral cosmetics, but with the added bonus of being packed exactly like traditional compacts. Offering every benefit that come from using mineral makeup, the new high-quality pressed varieties eliminate the only negative aspect of mineral cosmetics, making them the best choice of makeup. Second; it can be hard to know how to apply your mineral makeup, or which brushes to use. The best way to insure that you get the most out of you investment is to make certain that you have the best brushes. A high-quality kabuki brush will be an invaluable addition to your makeup kit; the best are hand-made. Your blush brush should be plush and tapered, as this is what will alow for the effortless, air-brushed look that is the signature of mineral makeup. Using all-natural mineral cosmetics instead of traditional makeup provides significant advantages.
